Located within Shenzhen Mission Hills Resort, this 8,500㎡ boutique hotel features 48 rooms and suites, all-day dining, SPA and infinity pool. "Concealment" is the core concept — the building lies low at the foot of the mountain, with stepped terraces bringing lake views into every room.
Interior design centers on "emptiness" and "stillness," using natural stone, bamboo-wood, and fair-faced concrete. Spatial layout emphasizes the rhythm of "conceal" and "reveal" — a deliberately low and narrow entrance suddenly opens to panoramic lake views.
The building steps back with the mountain slope, ensuring all 48 rooms have unobstructed lake views. Each room features a private terrace or courtyard of 15-30㎡. The stepping design reduces visual mass on the natural landscape.
Exterior walls combine local stone veneer with fair-faced concrete, with stone recycled from foundation excavation. Bamboo-wood composites reduce raw wood consumption by 60%. Natural textures and color variations of all materials are carefully preserved.
The infinity pool cantilevering over the lake is the hotel's visual focal point. The 35-meter pool edge uses transparent acrylic panels, creating the sensation of floating on water. Post-tensioned concrete beams achieve a 10-meter cantilever.
Landscape design integrates the building into existing vegetation, preserving 17 century-old trees. Building footprint occupies only 12% of the site. Natural terrain drainage achieves zero stormwater runoff. Firefly populations returned in the second year after opening.
The hotel scored 4.9 on Ctrip after opening and was named one of China's Best New Hotels by Condé Nast Traveler. Most frequent guest feedback keywords: "quiet," "immersed in nature," "meticulous details." Average stay of 2.8 nights, 0.5 nights above regional average, with 35% return rate.
